Mama's Call

Mamas Call oh mother Africa`
It was a dark and brisk morning
At the twilight of dawn
Stepping out on life’s highway
The Morning wind harsh against the face
I knew there was no other way
So I had to go
The bells of time was calling
While working feet march to the echoes of the drums
Drums of Mother Africa
Calling her child
Come my child the day is lighted
And there is work to be done
Tired and weary from yesterday’s task
None-the-less I picked up my marching feet
Headed down the highway of another working day
Yielding a pay almost not worth receiving
But the call for duty demands that I go
Oh Mother Africa with all your wealth
And rich soil when I can refrain from labor
Again I heard the drums of Africa
The brave ones chanting songs of triumphant
Resounding chords of victory
There the souls await the music for coming home.
